R.A. the Rugged Man
Richard Andrew Thorburn, born on January 10, 1974, and better recognized by his stage name R.A. the Rugged Man, is an American rapper and producer. Commencing his musical journey at the age of 12, he quickly gained local acclaim for his exceptional lyrical prowess. Thorburn inked a deal with the major label Jive Records when he was just 18, although his debut album, Night of the Bloody Apes, never saw the light of day.

He made notable appearances on all three of Rawkus’s Soundbombing albums and the platinum-selling WWF Aggression album. Following a short stint with Capitol Records, where he recorded another unreleased album titled American Lowlife, Thorburn found a home with the independent label Nature Sounds. His official debut, Die, Rugged Man, Die, was released under this label. In 2013, Thorburn treated fans to his second album, Legends Never Die, via Nature Sounds.
