SoSoon
SoSoon is a New York born emcee, producer, and educator. The moniker SoSoon, an acronym for Sound Of Something Out Of Nothing, represents the heart of Hip-Hop culture, which was developed by those who lacked access to outlets for creative expression. SoSoon’s music reflects the diverse experiences of New York’s working class.

His unapologetic New York sound combines witty lyricism, unique vocal cadence, thoughtful storytelling and versatile subject matter, which have drawn comparisons to early Childish Gambino.
SoSoon honed this sound and his style while a student at Hunter College. Through this experience he was able to expand his network which ultimately led to feature performances at legendary venues such as The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, CBGB’s, Public Assembly, and SOB’s, where he’s performed twice as an opening act for the acclaimed Ghetto Metal Showcase presented by The Source Magazine featuring M1 of Dead Prez, Lil Cease of Junior Mafia, Saigon, M.O.P., and artist/curator Bazaar Royale.
SoSoon has ten years of experience as a youth educator where he taught Hip-Hop history, songwriting, recording and performance techniques. While working with one of the most revered youth focused non-profits in NYC, SoSoon was offered the opportunity to feature in a documentary called “Fatherhood” where he told his story about the impact of absent fatherhood and appeared on a song alongside two of his young mentees. The documentary aired on The Fuse network in 2018.
The taste of television airtime opened SoSoon’s palette and mind to the idea of song licensing. He would gain that opportunity in 2019 when his song Sit Wit It was featured in the closing credits of the film “American Trial: The Eric Garner Story” which premiered at the 57th New York Film Festival and aired on The Reelz network in 2020.
the journey
“The pandemic was a reminder that tomorrow is never
promised. My biggest fear wasn’t dying; it was dying with
a mind full of incomplete concepts and hard drive full of
high quality, unreleased music.”
After a forced performance hiatus due to the pandemic, SoSoon returned to the stage in 2022 as part of the Full Blast Booking artist roster where he has opened for Ghostface Killah, C.L. Smooth, Sheek Louch of The Lox, Rah Digga, The Outsidaz, Dizzy Wright, Cannibus, and A-F-R-O.
