As an author, emcee, producer, booking agent, and tour manager, Sympl has worn many hats – his resume includes working with some of the best in the business. First and foremost, however, he is an artist – raised, groomed and tested by the d.i.y. ethos.

As founding member & manager of the group, Projekt Lotus, he was able to establish a solid and loyal fanbase across the U.S. He worked up the touring ranks both solo & with his group to share the stage & support highly publicized tours with Wu-Tang Clan’s Cappadonna, Del the Funky Homosapien & Hieroglyphics, Mobb Deep, Chali2na and Akil the MC of Jurassic 5, Cypress Hill, Das EFX, the Artifacts, and more.

Sympl’s touring schedule has always been hectic – juggling between hosting EDM events as an MC while also performing & promoting hip hop events across the country. In the same year, Sympl toured with EDM producer Mindelixir, hip hop acts Moka Only & Illa J, Hieroglyphic’s Casual for his 20th Anniverary tour, and was added to a few dates on the famed Van’s Warped Tour. It was during this time, he leaed into the role of touring and production management and his brand Dropp Science was truly born.

the journey

The Birth of Dropp Science. For several years, Sympl meticulously planned & executed the launch of Dropp Science in the summer of 2018 – including a monthly live showcase in NYC and stagings at several music festivals such as Queenshella & Moonshine in ATL, Zen Awakening in FL, Ashejam in NC & running the main stage at NC Hip Hop Festival in Durham.

The brand followed these appearances with the first release – single & video “Nuthin’ Free” produced by the Oakland-based, Compound7 and featured El Da Sensei of Artifacts.
