Anthony “Tony Dimes” Incandela was born in Queens, NY and raised in Deer Park, Long Island. As a young man his main interests and hobbies were comic books, video games, and hip hop music. Rap became a safe haven and something that got his creative juices flowing.
As a freshman in high school he was introduced to one of his favorite aspects of rap culture – live freestyling – when he saw upperclassmen freestyle at the lunch table. He was hooked ever since.
By 16 years old Anthony began to learn how to break dance, which further enriched his passion for hiphop. In an era when gangster rap was the dominant language in hip hop, he loved being a part of the energy and the build you get in a BBoy circle.
Tony attended C.W. Post Long Island University where he went on to receive a BFA in Broadcasting Communications. This was where Tony Dimes was born. He immersed himself in the hip hop culture as much as possible, through breakdancing, attending BBoy events, rap concerts, freestyling in various emcee cyphers and battles, through his fashion and any other way he could actively be involved in hip hop.
